It tells the time, which is the point
The display is a real 12/24 hour clock. The lens sits in the bezel and is invisible from a metre away.

Sold for lawful use only. Recording people without their consent, or in places where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy such as bathrooms, changing rooms or bedrooms, is illegal in most jurisdictions, including under US state wiretap and privacy statutes.
A bedside alarm clock that keeps time and also records: the lens is set into the bezel, infrared LEDs handle a dark room, and the display dims so it is not a light source you have to cover. Useful for monitoring a stockroom, an office or your own room while you are away. The record LED is visible on the front bezel.

Four hours on the internal battery means a power cut does not stop the recording.
940 nm IR means no visible LEDs. It records in a dark room without announcing itself.
Because in most jurisdictions the device is legal to own but the use must be lawful. The confirmation is a record that you read the policy; it goes into the quote email.
Yes. Every unit has a status LED that stays lit while it records. We deliberately do not sell units with the LED disabled, or units disguised as everyday objects.
Per unit in the spec table, typically a full day of recording on a single charge. All units can be powered continuously for 24/7 use.
Most do not: the card-based recorders have no radio at all, so there is nothing to pair, no account to create and no way for anyone to reach the footage over a network. Models that do support Wi-Fi say so in their specification table, and every unit records to local storage first regardless.
The units are compact but not hidden: the LED and the recording duration are visible up close. That is the point of the legal-use policy.
